How the matching works

Your answers add up to six interest scores — Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional (RIASEC). The test then compares the shape of your profile with the interest profile that the U.S. Department of Labor’s O*NET database records for every occupation, and ranks the closest matches. Because school subjects and jobs both change, this is a starting point for exploration, not a fixed prediction — interests grow and shift, especially during your teens.

What is a RIASEC or Holland Code career test?

RIASEC stands for six interest types — Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional — first described by psychologist John Holland. A RIASEC test measures how strong each interest is for you, then suggests careers whose day-to-day work matches your top interests. It is one of the most widely used and researched approaches in career guidance.

Is this career test suitable for teenagers?

Yes. The activities are written for ages 14 and up, and the results are framed as exploration rather than a verdict. It is a good fit for students choosing school subjects, thinking about further study, or simply wondering what kind of work might suit them.

How long does the test take?

About 10 minutes. There are 60 short activity statements; you just rate how much you would enjoy each one. There are no right or wrong answers.

Do I need to sign up or pay?

No. The test is free, the result appears immediately, and there is no account, email wall or paid report.

Why does each career show an AI-automation outlook?

Choosing a career is also about the future of work. Each matched occupation links to our AI-job-risk data, so you can see not only whether a career fits your interests, but also how exposed it is to automation, what it typically pays, and whether it is projected to grow — information most career quizzes leave out.

Will this test tell me exactly what job to do?

No, and you should be cautious of any test that claims to. Your interests are one important piece; your abilities, values, opportunities and circumstances matter too. Use the result as a map of directions worth exploring, and talk it over with people you trust — a teacher, a school counsellor, or family.

Where do the careers and data come from?

The occupation list and interest profiles come from O*NET, the U.S. Department of Labor’s occupational database, combined with employment and wage projections from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and AI-exposure data. Job titles and pay reflect the U.S. labour market, so figures in your country may differ.

Can my interests change?

Absolutely — that is normal and expected, especially as a teenager. Taking the test again in a year or two often gives a different, more focused picture as you discover new activities and subjects.
