Remove Background Noise from Audio Online
A noise removal tool with five smart profiles — Voice, Podcast, Music, Hum Removal, and AI. Adjustable strength for finding the right balance between clarity and naturalness. Processes recordings directly in your browser.
How to Remove Background Noise from Audio
Drag and drop a noisy audio file or click to browse. Supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC files up to 1 GB. On a phone the ceiling is lower.
Select the noise profile that matches your audio: Voice for calls and meetings, Podcast for recordings, Music for songs, or Hum Removal for electrical buzz.
Choose the noise reduction strength: Light for subtle cleaning, Medium for balanced removal, Strong for heavy noise, or Maximum for extreme cases.
Click "Remove Noise" and wait for processing. Use the A/B toggle to compare original and cleaned audio, then download your noise-free file.
Remove hiss, hum, fan noise, and room ambience — five profiles for voice, podcast, and music
What each profile actually does to the sound
The profiles are not presets of “strength” — they are different processing chains. Picking the right one matters more than the strength slider.
| Profile | What is applied |
|---|---|
| Voice | Neural noise suppression, a cut below 80–150 Hz and click removal — for speech recorded on anything. |
| Podcast | The same, plus a gentle tone correction (200 Hz and 3 kHz up, 6.5 kHz down), compression and loudness brought to −16 LUFS. |
| Music | No neural network: spectral noise reduction only, with a cut of the very bottom (20–30 Hz), so instruments are left alone. |
| Hum Removal | Notch filters at 50 Hz and its harmonics (100, 150, 200, 250, 300 Hz) — exactly where mains hum sits. |
| AI | DeepFilterNet3 with no extra processing: the strongest cleaner for speech. |
| Custom | The same building blocks, with the numbers set by hand. |
What to expect
- Strength changes not only how deeply noise is subtracted but also the low cut: on “Voice” it moves from 80 Hz to 150 Hz between Light and Maximum.
- Noise suppression removes what differs from the useful signal. Room echo is the voice itself reflected off the walls, so reverb is not what this tool removes.
- The harder the suppression, the more audible its traces on consonants and the more “underwater” the tail sounds — the sensible choice is the lightest setting at which the noise stops bothering you.
