Perfboard layout for a soldered build

An online tool for laying out a circuit on a solder board — plain perfboard with isolated pads, or stripboard with copper rows. Place parts on the 2.54 mm grid, draw traces between holes, cut a track or drop a via to the other side where you need one, and check the resulting circuit by calculation before you pick up the iron. Board layout, the wiring plan and a connection check all sit in one window.

How to lay out a perfboard

Pick the board

Choose perfboard or stripboard, the number of rows and columns, and one side or two. You can change the size at any point — parts keep their place on the grid.

Place the parts

Pick a part from the palette and tap a hole; the leads land on the grid at the real pitch of the package. Drag to move a part, use the rotate button to stand it up vertically.

Draw the traces

Switch on the Trace tool and swipe from hole to hole — the trace follows your finger. On stripboard use Cut to split a row; on a two-sided board use a via to cross to the other side.

Check it, then solder

Press Simulate to solve the circuit, flip the board to the solder side and save it as an image — that is the picture you build from.

Load a schematic

Paste a link or code from the circuit simulator, a netlist from KiCad or EasyEDA, or simply list the connections one per line. The tool places the parts, routes the traces, and then keeps checking the board against this schematic.

Take or upload a picture of the schematic — AI reads the parts and connections and lays them out on the board. Edit as usual from there.

⚠️ Recognition is approximate. Check every connection against the photo before you solder: a sharp, straight, well-lit shot reads far better than a blurry or angled one.
