Lake depth map from sonar logs
An online tool for making a depth map from sonar logs: it reads Lowrance .sl2 and .sl3, Humminbird and Garmin recordings, cleans out false bottom and fish echoes, and draws a bathymetric chart with contour lines, a 3D bottom, holes, humps and drop-offs. The finished lake map is saved as GPX for a chartplotter, KML or KMZ for Google Earth, a picture, a PDF or a GeoTIFF; logs of any size are read right in the browser.
How to make a depth map
Turn on sonar recording on the sounder, make passes over the water and copy the files from the memory card: .sl2/.sl3, .RSD or the Humminbird recording folder.
Drop one or several logs. Pick the contour step and how wide a gap between passes may be filled, and set the water level of each day if it changed.
Download GPX for the chartplotter, KMZ for Google Earth, a picture or a PDF — or the soundings as CSV.
Build a bathymetric chart of your lake from Lowrance, Humminbird or Garmin recordings
Logs live on the sounder’s memory card: Lowrance — .sl2/.sl3, Garmin — .RSD, Humminbird — RecXXXXX.DAT with a folder of .SON files. Points with depth from CSV, GPX or NMEA work too.
Example: a modeled recording of a made-up lake placed in the open Atlantic, where there is no lake. Your own log is read the same way.

Spots
A hole is deeper than everything around it, a hump is shallower; a drop-off is where the bottom falls steeply. Tap a spot to zoom to it.
