Shooting targets: printable sight-in targets and photo analysis
An online tool for sighting in: printable shooting targets at true scale on Letter or A4 paper, shot group analysis from a photo of your target, and a shot size selector. From the photo the tool finds the bullet holes, measures the group and its mean point of impact, and tells you how many clicks to dial; for a shotgun it shows what share of the load landed inside a 30-inch circle.
How to sight in
At 100% scale, then check the ruler.
From above, all four markers in frame.
Clicks, group size and MPOI.
Print a target, photograph your group and get your scope correction
How to take the photo
From above, in even light, with all four markers in the frame. Dark cardboard behind the target makes the holes easier to see.
Shot numbers across systems
The analysis and shot selector are aids for sighting in, not a substitute for it. Confirm the scope correction with a check group, and the shot and load by patterning at the distance you hunt.
Shot diameters: GOST 7837-76 and the summary table of shot numbering systems (Wikipedia, Shotgun cartridge); choke percentages: Wikipedia, Choke (firearms).
