Each scene is a stack: the signal is convolved with an impulse, then echo with feedback, filters, EQ and background noise layers are added. The impulse is synthesised in your browser at the requested tail length and brightness rather than taken from a library of recorded rooms — which is why Size, Damping and Pre-delay reshape the sound live, something a fixed set of recorded responses cannot do.

Playback with the environment applied starts immediately, so you can move from one scene to another while the sound is running and hear the difference on your own material rather than on a demo. While it plays, work the intensity and the wet/dry mix: both respond live, and the right setting almost always sounds slightly thinner than you expect while you are making it — your ear adapts to a space within about half a minute, so what feels convincing during the adjustment tends to feel overdone on the next listen. Export only once you are satisfied, and what is written is exactly what you were hearing.

The second rule is that a big space costs intelligibility — a cathedral on a spoken voice is dramatic for one sentence and unlistenable for a paragraph, which is why the smaller rooms are the useful ones for anything with words in it.
