Recent earthquakes and seismic activity
A free, live earthquake map that shows the quakes recorded around the world over the past day. Each event is plotted where it happened, sized by magnitude and coloured by depth, and a quake that arrives while you watch pulses on the map. Tap any circle for its magnitude, depth, location and how long ago it struck. Data is merged from the USGS and EMSC seismic networks and refreshes every minute.
How to use the earthquake map
Each circle is one earthquake from the past day. Bigger circles are stronger quakes; warm colours are shallow, cool colours are deep.
Click any circle for its magnitude, depth, location and how long ago it happened, plus a link to the official USGS or EMSC page.
Use the magnitude filter to show only stronger quakes, or jump straight to the biggest or most recent event with one tap.
Press “Near me” to centre the map on your location and see recent activity around you.
