Moon Phase and Lunar Day Today
This tool shows the Moon as it is at this moment: its phase and percentage of illumination, the lunar day, distance and apparent disc size, plus moonrise, transit and moonset for your location. The three-dimensional globe is built from real geometry — the Earth, Moon and Sun sit in their actual positions, so the terminator and libration emerge on their own instead of being drawn approximately. A month-long phase calendar helps you plan a date ahead.
How to use it
Tap "Near me". The phase and globe stay the same, but the lunar day, rise, set and crescent tilt are computed for your exact point.
Drag the Moon with a mouse or finger to peek past the limb. "Reset rotation" returns to the face visible from Earth right now.
"As in the sky" tilts the terminator the way you will see it outdoors. "As on a map" puts north up, which matches printed Moon atlases.
Arrows step through days, and clicking a calendar cell jumps to that date. "Now" returns to the current moment.
