How are the levels decided?

Topics are placed at A1–C2 following the Cambridge English Grammar Profile and the British Council–EAQUALS Core Inventory — the standard references for which grammar belongs at which CEFR level.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. Your progress is saved in your browser automatically, with no account needed. A Pro account additionally syncs it across your devices.

Do I have to follow the order?

No. The course suggests an order and highlights your next topic, but you can open any topic at any time and study in whatever order you like.

What if I don’t know my level?

Take our free English level test first to find your CEFR level, then come back and start the matching course.

How does a topic get marked as mastered?

Score 80% or more on a topic’s practice quiz, or mark it as known yourself if you already have it. You can always re-take a quiz.

Is it really free?

Yes — the whole syllabus, all explanations and all practice are free and run in your browser. It also works offline.
