Concentration: a work session without distractions

A tool for distraction-free work. Before you start you name one next step and pick a sprint length, from ten minutes up. While the session runs, any stray thought goes onto a list in one line instead of pulling you into the browser. On the break the list gets sorted: some of it becomes the next session, the rest disappears.

How to use it

1

Write one next step — not the whole project, just the first concrete action.

2

Pick a sprint length. If starting is hard, take 10 or 15 minutes rather than 25.

3

Work. When a thought pulls at you, type it into "Distracted?" and go back to the task.

4

On the break, tick what you are taking forward and follow the suggestion: move, drink, look away.

Name one step, set fifteen minutes, and put distractions on a list

What are you about to do? One step, not the whole project. "Write the first paragraph" instead of "do the report" makes starting far easier.
