PST and OST archive viewer

An Outlook data file is not a document — it is a small database with its own index, and when that index is damaged Outlook refuses the whole file even though the mail inside is untouched. This tool reads the archive directly: it follows the index while the index still stands, and rebuilds it from the pages left in the file when it does not. Items that no folder lists any more, including deleted ones, are found by walking the archive from the items upwards instead of from the folders down.

1
Load the archive

Drop in a .pst or .ost file. Size is not a limit: the archive is read block by block, so a 40 GB mailbox opens like a small one.

2
Read what is there

Folders, messages, attachments, contacts and calendar entries. If the archive is damaged, its index is rebuilt first and the tool says what it had to do.

3
Take it with you

Save a single message, a whole folder as mbox, contacts as vCard and appointments as iCalendar — formats other programs actually import.
