Corrupted file diagnosis

A file that stopped opening is almost never broken all the way through. Far more often a small service part is damaged — a header, an index or a table of contents — while the main data lies untouched. This tool walks the file by its internal structure and says what exactly was hurt and how much was preserved.

1
Load the file

Drop in any file that will not open. There is no size limit: the file is read in pieces and never loaded into memory whole.

2
Read the verdict

The tool names the real format, shows where the structure breaks and estimates what share of the data survived.

3
Move on to the repair

Buttons appear under the verdict: cut off the junk beginning, restore the extension, or open the tool that repairs this format.

Find out what exactly broke and how much data survived
