How to Record a Song Online

Upload a backing track

Drag and drop your instrumental or backing track (MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A — up to 50 MB), or click "A Cappella" to record without music.

Put on headphones

Wear headphones to prevent the backing track from leaking into your microphone. The studio will ask for mic access when you start.

Record or upload your vocals

Click Record and sing along with the music — or click "Import Vocal" to upload an already-recorded take (MP3, WAV, M4A, etc.). Each take is a separate clip you can move, split, or delete.

Apply effects and mix

Add reverb, adjust the 3-band EQ, set compressor and noise gate thresholds. Balance vocal and music volumes with the mixer.

Export your song

Click "Export Mix", choose a format (MP3, WAV, or OGG) and quality, then download your finished song.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sync my vocals with a backing track?

Upload or import your backing track, then record your vocals while listening through headphones. The studio automatically compensates for latency. If the alignment isn't perfect, drag the vocal track left or right to fine-tune the sync.

Can I upload an already-recorded vocal instead of recording live?

Yes. Click "Import Vocal" and upload your existing file (MP3, WAV, M4A, and more). Then drag it along the timeline or use the offset slider and "Calibrate" button to lock it to the beat of the backing track. Adjust key and tempo if needed.

How do I align a vocal to a backing track by rhythm, key and tempo?

Shift it in time by dragging the clip or using the millisecond offset slider with auto-calibrate. Change the key by ±12 semitones and the tempo from 50–150%. This lets you fit a separately-recorded vocal onto any backing track.

Do I need special equipment?

Just a microphone and headphones. Any USB microphone or even your laptop's built-in mic will work. A condenser mic will give better results but is not required.

What is latency compensation?

There is a small delay between when you sing and when the computer records it. Our studio automatically compensates for this, and you can fine-tune the alignment by dragging the vocal track.

Can I record multiple takes and keep the best one?

Yes! Each time you press Record, a new clip is created on the timeline. You can delete unwanted takes, move clips around, split them, or keep multiple takes layered together.

What audio effects are available?

The studio includes reverb with 5 presets (off, small room, hall, cathedral, plate), a 3-band EQ (low, mid, high), a compressor with threshold and ratio controls, and a noise gate for removing background noise.
