Hum, whistle, or play a melody — we'll turn it into notes. Useful when you don't have a file at hand.

Notes, MIDI numbers and frequencies

The anchors a transcription leans on. Middle C is MIDI 60; the tuning reference A4 is MIDI 69 at 440 Hz, and every semitone from it multiplies the frequency by 2^(1/12).

Note MIDI Frequency Clef
C2 36 65.41 Hz Bass
C3 48 130.8 Hz Bass
A3 57 220.0 Hz Bass
C4 60 261.6 Hz Treble
A4 69 440.0 Hz Treble
C5 72 523.3 Hz Treble
C6 84 1046.5 Hz Treble
C7 96 2093.0 Hz Treble

The tool writes these numbers into the MIDI file it exports, so a note here and a note in your editor are the same thing. Below middle C the staff switches to bass clef — that is the boundary in the last column.
