MIDI files are instructions, not recordings — the sound depends on the synthesizer. Our tool uses Web Audio API synthesis with three styles (Clean, Warm, Retro), which differs from the soundfont or hardware synth used in the original. Think of it like the same sheet music played on different instruments.

What audio quality can I expect?

The output quality depends on the sound style you choose. Four styles are available: Clean (sine wave, smooth organ tone), Warm (triangle wave, natural sound), Retro (square wave + bit-crushing, 8-bit/chiptune), and Original (real General MIDI instrument samples). MP3 supports bitrates from 128 to 320 kbps. WAV is lossless at 16-bit.

Can I convert MIDI files with multiple tracks?

Yes. Our converter handles multi-track MIDI files (Type 0 and Type 1). All tracks and channels are mixed down into a stereo audio file, preserving the original arrangement.

Can I convert old polyphonic ringtones?
