Which formats are supported?
Guitar Pro GP3, GP4, GP5, GP and GPX, plus MusicXML (.xml and .mxl). These cover exports from Guitar Pro, Songsterr, TuxGuitar and MuseScore.
How accurate is the conversion?
It is lossless for pitch and rhythm — a tab file stores the exact notes, so we convert them directly with no recognition step. Bends, slides and other MIDI-2.0 nuances are flattened for Standard MIDI File compatibility.
Can I convert a screenshot or photo of a tab?
No — an image has no exact note data. For a photo/PDF of standard notation, use our Sheet Music to MIDI tool. For a tablature image, open it in the original software or site (Guitar Pro, TuxGuitar, Songsterr) and export the file, then convert it here.
Can I export only the bass or only the guitar?
Yes. A multi-track file lists each instrument; untick the ones you do not need before converting.
Does it work with drums?
Drum/percussion tracks are converted to the General MIDI percussion channel (channel 10), so they play back with standard drum sounds in your DAW.
What can I open the MIDI with?
Any DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, GarageBand, Reaper) or notation editor (MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale).
