What the photo to coloring page tool does

Lines without gaps
The sheet is built from closed areas, not from traced edges: on 30 test photos, edge tracing leaves 43–76 gaps per sheet, and this leaves a handful. Crayons, paint and on-screen fill stay inside the line.
A level for each age, in millimeters
Toddlers 3–4 get a 2.2 mm line and areas at least 14 mm wide, preschoolers 1.5 and 8 mm, school-age kids 1 and 4.5 mm; "Relaxing" keeps thin lines and small details.
Color by number with a key and an answer
6 to 24 colors, taken from the photo itself or from a set of 12 markers or 24 colored pencils, with color names. Each number sits in the widest spot of its area and fits there; the second page is the colored answer. For toddlers, color dots replace numbers.
Ready themes and a word to trace
Animals, vehicles, nature, food, holidays and four more themes — 1, 2 or 4 pictures per sheet. Under each picture its name is printed in dashed letters for tracing.
Color on screen
Any sheet can be colored by tapping on a phone, a tablet or a classroom TV, and saved as a picture. Fill follows the areas of the sheet, so it never leaks through a gap.
Vector PDF, Letter or A4
Lines in the PDF are vector, numbers and the key are real text, so the sheet prints sharp on any printer. PNG is there too.

Frequently asked questions

Why are small details missing from the sheet when the photo has them?

The level drops whatever a child of that age can't color: for toddlers the narrowest area is 14 mm, for preschoolers 8 mm. The "Detail" slider or an older level brings details back; "Relaxing" keeps areas down to 2.4 mm.

The sheet shows the background — curtains, grass, clutter. How do I keep only the cat?

Choose "Background: main subject only". A neural network finds the subject in the photo and the background becomes one blank area. "Decide for me" does this when the subject clearly stands out; a landscape keeps its background.

How is "12 markers" different from "From the photo"?

"From the photo" picks the photo's own shades — closer to the picture, but that exact shade may not be in the box. "12 markers" and "24 pencils" choose colors from a regular kids' set, and the key shows a plain name such as "light blue" or "light green".

Why isn't the number in the middle of an area?

The number goes to the widest spot of the area — the point farthest from the line in every direction. In a curved area the middle can fall outside it, while the widest spot is always inside. Areas too narrow for a number merge with a neighbor of a similar shade.

How do we color a sheet together on a classroom TV?

Open the page on the TV or a connected laptop, upload a photo or choose a theme, and press "Color on screen". Every tap or click fills a whole area; "Undo" takes back the last step and "Save picture" gives you a PNG.
