Projector Warmup / Run-In Cycle

A brand-new 3LCD or DLP projector takes dozens of hours of varied content before its panels settle and colour uniformity stabilises. This cycle compresses that break-in into an unattended session: it marches through solid primary and secondary colour fields, full white and black, grayscale ramps, scrolling checkerboards and sine-wave colour washes — and, in aggressive mode, RGB strobing and pixel noise — to drive every sub-pixel across its working range. Pick standard (ten phases of 60 s), aggressive (twelve faster 30 s phases with strobe and noise) or gentle (four slow 120 s phases), set how many hours to run, and leave it going.

Choose a duration

Four hours makes a solid first session; repeat over several evenings to build toward the 50–200 hours a new panel benefits from.

Pick an intensity

Standard suits most units. Switch to gentle if the fan ramps up loudly on the busier aggressive content.

Start in a ventilated spot

Run it in a dim, well-aired place and let it go full-screen; never drape or box in the projector while it runs.

Leave it running

The cycle is unattended — the current phase and time remaining flash up briefly when you move the mouse.
