Will converting stereo to mono lose quality?

Mixing L+R to mono combines both channels with equal weighting — no audio content is lost. The resulting file will sound the same on single-speaker devices. If you choose Left Only or Right Only, you keep just that channel's content.

Why convert stereo to mono?

Common reasons: podcasts are typically mono (smaller files, better compatibility), some audio plays in only one ear and needs fixing, or your editor requires mono input. Converting to mono also halves the number of audio samples.

What does Swap L/R do?
