Why watermark here

Most browser tools only show the result after processing: you guess at the settings, download, open the file, notice the mark landed on top of a paragraph, and start again. Here your document is visible from the first second, the mark is positioned by dragging, and the "under the text" layer renders exactly the way the PDF will render it — including the case where a solid page background hides it. All of it without rasterising: the source text stays text.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PDF text stay selectable?

Yes. The mark is drawn as vector text or an embedded image; the document itself is never turned into a picture.

Can the mark go under the text instead of over it?

Yes, with the Layer switch. The mark is written to the front of the page content, so the text paints on top of it. If the page fills itself with a solid background, a mark underneath will not show — and the preview says so before you download.

How do I watermark only some pages?

Type a range in the Pages field the same way you would anywhere else: "1-3, 5, 8-end". The "Skip the first" button covers the usual case of leaving the cover clean, and typing "2-end" does exactly the same by hand. Pages outside the range come through untouched — no invisible layer is added to them.

Can I drag the mark?

Yes, straight across the page. Drop it near a grid cell and it snaps to it, so exact alignment is always one move away.

Does it handle non-Latin text?

Yes. The fonts built into the PDF format carry no Cyrillic, Greek or CJK glyphs, so a font that does is substituted for such text — and you are told, rather than it happening silently.

Can I use my own logo instead of text?

Yes, as a JPG or a PNG. PNG transparency is preserved, so a logo cut out on a transparent background sits on the page without a white box around it — which is the whole reason to export it as PNG in the first place. The logo is placed, scaled and rotated like the text mark, and the opacity slider applies to it too.

I need the same mark on photos and on video, not on a PDF.

Those are separate tools, because the mechanics differ: on a PDF the mark is drawn as a layer over pages that stay vector, while a photo or a video frame has to be re-encoded with the mark burned in. Use the photo watermark for images and the video watermark for footage.

Can I do several PDFs at once?

Yes. Pick several files and they queue up; the mark is set once and goes on all of them. The preview switches to any file in the queue, so you can check that one. The results are written into a folder you choose, or into a single archive if the browser cannot do folders. The daily limit counts FILES, so a queue longer than what is left will not half-run: you are told before it starts, not after the third file.
