How to Use the Audio Logger

Choose your microphone

Select the microphone from the dropdown. USB mics, headsets, and built-in hardware are all supported.

Mono or stereo, and the segment length

Pick quality (Standard/Medium/High), mono or stereo, and segment interval (15–120 minutes).

Press Record

Click the record button to start. The waveform and timer will begin immediately.

Segments close on their own

At every interval the recording continues in a new segment. With a folder chosen, the finished one is written there; otherwise it appears in the list with Play and Save.

Stop when done

Press Stop or hit Escape. The last segment is saved, and every segment in the list can be played or saved again.

Every 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes the recording moves on to a new segment without a gap. Pick a folder in Chrome or Edge and each segment is written straight into it.
Voice activation (VOX) — pause on silence

Why Use Audio Logger

Unlike other online recorders, Audio Logger is designed for long-duration, unattended recording. Every second is written to the browser's storage, so a crash or a closed tab does not take the recording with it. VOX mode saves disk space by skipping silence. Scheduled recording lets you set it and forget it. Runs in your browser via Web Audio API and MediaRecorder.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I record?

There is no time limit. In Chrome and Edge, pick a folder and every segment is written into it as soon as it closes. In other browsers the segments collect in the list, and you save them when you are back.

What happens if my browser crashes?

The recording is written to the browser's storage second by second. After a crash, a reload, or a closed tab, open the page again: the finished segments and the interrupted one are in the list.

What format are the files?

M4A (AAC) in Chrome, Edge, Safari, and on iPhone — the standard players of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android open it. Firefox records WebM (Opus). For MP3 or WAV, run the file through “Convert Audio”.

Will my screen turn off during recording?

No — the Audio Logger keeps the screen on while it records. On an iPhone, recording pauses while the browser is in the background or the phone is locked, so keep the page open on screen.

Can I pause and resume?

Yes. Pausing stops the timer and recording. When you resume, the segment continues where it left off.

What is Voice Activated (VOX) mode?

VOX automatically pauses recording during silence and resumes when sound is detected. This saves disk space during long sessions with intermittent audio.

Can I schedule a recording?

Yes. Set a start time and optionally a stop time. The recorder will begin and end automatically. You need to grant microphone permission beforehand and keep the tab open.
