Graph paper and millimetre paper to print
An online generator for printable paper: squares, millimetre paper, dots, isometric, hexagons, ruled lines, music staves, tablature, handwriting guides, Cornell notes, polar and semi-log grids. The file is assembled straight into vector PDF at true page size, so the squares on paper come out exactly the size you asked for.
How to use it

Square size in millimetres, sheet size, margins and, if you need them, extra room for hole punches. A paler line colour helps if you will be writing over the grid.
Download the calibration sheet, print it at 100 %, measure the reference line with a ruler — its length is printed on the sheet and enter what you measured. The correction is remembered in your browser.
In the print dialog choose “Actual size” or 100 % and turn off “Fit to page” — otherwise the correction lands on top of somebody else’s scaling.
Hold a ruler against the printed sheet: ten 5 mm squares should span exactly 50 mm. If they do not, run the calibration again — most likely fit-to-page is still on.

The preview is drawn by the same code as the file, so it shows exactly what will print.
Printer calibration
Browsers and drivers shrink the page to fit by default, which is why squares come out 3–5 % small. Print the calibration sheet once, measure the printed line with a ruler and enter the result — every file after that comes out exact.
In the print dialog choose 100 % (or “Actual size”) and turn off “Fit to printable area”.
Why a PNG will not do
An image has no physical size: it prints at whatever scale the page layout and the printer driver agree on. For a background nobody notices. For millimetre paper it is fatal — a 4.7 mm square looks exactly like a 5 mm one and there is nothing to check it against. Here the sheet is assembled straight into PDF, where one millimetre is exactly 72/25.4 points and the page really is A4 or Letter.
