Stencil maker for cutting: letters, numbers and pictures

An online tool for making stencils from text, a picture or a ready shape. The bridges that keep the middle of an "O" from falling out are placed automatically and measured in millimeters of the finished size. The template downloads as a PDF to print across sheets, an SVG for a cutting plotter or a DXF for a laser.

1
Pick the source and the size

Type text, take a shape or upload a picture, then set the size and the material — the material decides the bridge tolerances.

2
Check the layout

Under the preview it says whether it is safe to cut, and risky spots are painted on the drawing. Remove a bridge you do not want or drag your own across the canvas.

3
Download and print

A large stencil is spread over sheets with an overlap, alignment crosses and an assembly map; the 50 mm ruler on each sheet proves the scale.

Build the layout, check the bridges and print it at true size

Printing
10 mm

Print at 100% and turn off "fit to page": the ruler on the sheet shows you if the driver shrank it anyway.

Which file should I pick?PDF to print and trace. SVG (cut) for plotters and lasers, DXF for CNC. SVG (filled) and PNG to drop into a layout.
