A free online virtual drum kit you can play live in your browser — kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, crash and ride, plus a world-percussion mode with cajón, bongos, congas, darbuka, frame drum and more. Hit the pads with your mouse, keyboard, touch, or a WebMIDI controller, follow grooves and lessons, and record your beats. The acoustic kits use real multi-velocity samples; the 808 and 909 kits are synthesized for an instant electronic sound.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?

No — the drums run entirely in your web browser. Nothing to install, and it works on phones, tablets and computers.

Can I use my own electronic drum kit?

Yes. Click “Connect MIDI” and play any WebMIDI-compatible drum kit or pad controller. WebMIDI works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox; Safari does not support it yet, but mouse, touch and keyboard always work.

How do I make a hit louder or softer?

With a MIDI controller, dynamics follow how hard you hit. With the mouse, hit higher on a pad for a louder sound; on the keyboard, hold Shift for an accent or Alt for a ghost note.

Can I record my drumming?

Yes. Open the Record & export tab, record a take, play it back, then download it as a WAV, MP3 or MIDI file.

Why does the MIDI file trigger drums in my DAW?

Exported MIDI is written on channel 10, the General MIDI percussion channel, so it maps to your DAW’s drum kit automatically.

Are the drum sounds realistic?

The acoustic kits use real recorded samples with several velocity layers and round-robin variations, so repeated hits sound natural rather than machine-gun identical.
