Virtual Drums — Online Drum Kit & World Percussion

A free online virtual drum kit you can play live in your browser — kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, crash and ride, plus a world-percussion mode with cajón, bongos, congas, darbuka, frame drum and more. Hit the pads with your mouse, keyboard, touch, or a WebMIDI controller, follow grooves and lessons, and record your beats. The acoustic kits use real multi-velocity samples; the 808 and 909 kits are synthesized for an instant electronic sound.

Play-along grooves

Pick a groove and play over it — the beat keeps time while you add fills.

Practice lessons

Drum rudiments and basic beats — play along, then speed up with the tempo trainer.

Target Step (BPM/bar)

Live looper

Record a loop in time with the metronome, then overdub layers on top.

Mixer

Set the volume and stereo position of each drum, or mute it.

Record & export your take

Record a live performance, play it back, and download it as WAV, MP3 or MIDI.

Settings

The realistic kit shows a drawn drum set you can click; pads are simpler and better on phones.

On a MIDI controller, velocity always follows how hard you hit. Hold Shift for an accent, Alt for a ghost note on the keyboard.
