What makes this different

13 platform presets — from Instagram Reels (1080×1920, 30 fps) to Discord 8 MB and Telegram 512×512 stickers, each with the right resolution, codec and size ceiling.
An audio track with an explicit answer to "who decides the length": the track is cut to fit the clip — or the animation repeats as many times as it takes to cover the whole track.
The target-size slider computes the bitrate through two-pass H.264 to land inside 8 MB, 50 MB or 100 MB within ±5 % — and a soundtrack takes its share of that budget instead of being added on top of it.
Exact durations: loop to 15.0 s and you get 15.0 s, not "the nearest whole number of repeats". Speed 0.25×–4× moves the length just as honestly.

Which format should I pick

MP4 (H.264) plays on every browser, phone and social platform — choose it first. WebM (VP9) is typically 20–40 % smaller at the same visual quality and supports a transparent alpha channel, but older devices may not decode it. APNG is the closest thing to a lossless animated replacement for GIF, with full alpha and no 256-color palette limit. Pick all three at once and you get a ZIP suitable for an HTML <video> with MP4 and WebM sources plus an APNG fallback for emails and tools that still prefer image formats.

Why convert a GIF to MP4 in the first place

Instagram, TikTok and YouTube silently reject the .gif extension and expect a real video container. Twitter converts GIFs to MP4 anyway — uploading MP4 yourself avoids quality loss. Discord has hard file-size limits (8 MB free, 50 MB Nitro) that stock GIFs blow past. For web developers, replacing an animated <img src="x.gif"> with a muted looping <video> with MP4+WebM sources reduces page weight by up to 10×. All of these use cases need one thing: a clean, fast GIF-to-video conversion that preserves the animation.

Why do I need to convert a GIF to video?

Social networks like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube don't accept .gif uploads directly — they expect MP4. Twitter converts GIFs behind the scenes and you lose quality. Discord has 8 MB (free) and 50 MB (Nitro) size limits that most GIFs exceed. And for websites, replacing a GIF with a looping MP4 video typically cuts the file size by 5–10× with no visible quality loss.

How do I keep my video under Discord's 8 MB limit?

Pick the Discord (8 MB) preset — the tool computes a target bitrate with a 5 % safety margin and uses two-pass H.264 encoding to hit that size. If the source is very long or high-resolution, the tool will also downscale automatically to fit.

Can I loop a short GIF to fill a longer video?

Yes. Pick "To duration" in the Loop section and enter the target length (for example, 15 s for an Instagram Story slot). The tool computes the integer loop count and optionally fades out the last 0.5 s for a clean tail.

What happens with transparent GIFs?

Standard MP4 has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels need a background fill. The tool detects alpha automatically and offers four fills: black, white, a custom color, or a blurred copy of the first frame (cinematic look). If you export WebM or APNG instead, transparency is preserved.

Is there a watermark or a signup?

No watermark, and no account needed. There is a daily conversion counter — how many you have left today is shown right above the button, and Premium raises the ceiling. The encoding itself still runs locally via FFmpeg WebAssembly: the engine downloads once (~30 MB) and is cached.

Can I add music and stretch the GIF to its length?

Yes, in both directions. Attach a track in the Audio track section: by default the video sets the length and the track is cut to fit. For the opposite, pick the "Match the audio" loop mode and the animation repeats as many times as it takes to cover the whole track. Start point, volume, fade in and fade out are all right there; for a waveform editor and mic recording there is a separate tool, Add audio to GIF.

Does this work on my phone?

Yes on modern iOS 16+ Safari, Chrome for Android and desktop Chrome / Firefox / Edge. Very old devices may run out of memory on 100 MB GIFs — use a shorter clip or lower resolution in that case.

Can I convert several GIFs at once, and does it take APNG?

Yes to both. Drop up to 30 files — they queue up, the settings apply to all of them, and the results come back as one ZIP. APNG is accepted as input alongside GIF; the frames and timing are read from the file itself. A plain non-animated PNG is refused — turning a screenshot into a one-second video helps nobody. Animated WebP is not supported yet: our engine cannot decode it (measured, not assumed).
