Poetry analyzer for meter, rhyme and syllables

A green bar on the left means the line keeps the poem's meter, orange means it breaks, gray means the line has a word whose stress we do not know. Above the lines, the «What to fix» block names the line, the word where the meter breaks and what to do: reorder words, use a word stressed differently, shorten or lengthen the line. It also lists line pairs that do not rhyme, with rhyme suggestions. The line-by-line check currently works for poems in Russian; for other languages the tool shows the meter and rhyme scheme without line-by-line advice.

Five classical templates: iamb (⏑−), trochee (−⏑), dactyl (−⏑⏑), amphibrach (⏑−⏑), and anapest (⏑⏑−). If lines do not fit any template, the result is labeled "free verse" or "undetermined". Korean additionally detects sijo; Arabic detects six of al-Khalil's Bahr meters (Tawil, Basit, Kamil, Wafir, Rajaz, Mutaqarib); Indonesian detects pantun, syair, and gurindam.

Marks appear above each word, one per syllable: "−" stressed, "⏑" unstressed, "·" unknown (word not in dictionary). Hover any line for a compact tooltip with the full pattern + syllable count. Marks align directly above their source syllable so feet are easy to count.

Double-click any word in either textarea to open a popup of rhymes from the dictionary (matched by the phonemic tail from the primary-stressed vowel). Alt+R on keyboard, long-press on touch. Click a chip to insert the rhyme at the cursor. In Analyze mode you can also click a word in the visual scansion grid to get rhymes for that specific word in context.

Haiku (5-7-5), tanka (5-7-5-7-7), sijo, limerick (AABBA), sonnets (Shakespearean ABABCDCDEFEFGG, Petrarchan ABBAABBA, Spenserian ABABBCBCCDCDEE), Onegin stanza, Dante's terza rima, quatrain variants (cross / paired / envelope / monorhyme / rubai), couplet, pantun, syair, gurindam. When every stanza shares the same shape, a composite form is reported ("5 quatrains").

Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonants in nearby words ("Peter Piper picked a peck"). Assonance is the repetition of stressed vowels. The analyzer groups words by initial consonant for alliteration and by stressed vowel for assonance; groups of ≥ 2 words in the same line surface as findings with colored chips.

A draft is saved in your browser (localStorage), one per interface language. It is restored automatically next time you open the page. Apart from the draft, only anonymous usage statistics (which features you used) are recorded. The "Clear" button discards the draft.

Yes. For poems longer than 200 lines the renderer batches rows in 50-line requestAnimationFrame chunks so the main thread stays responsive. Tested with full chapters of Eugene Onegin (~5,500 lines) without lock-ups.

Three ways: "Copy" writes a Markdown-formatted table to the clipboard (pastes cleanly into Notion / Obsidian / Google Docs); "Export PDF" opens the browser print dialog with print-specific styles; "Share" opens the native share sheet on mobile and falls back to clipboard on desktop.
