What the tool can do — and what happens to the sound

Reversal itself is exact: the samples are written back to front and nothing else is touched. Everything below appears in the panel only after a file is loaded, so here is the list beforehand.

Option What happens to the sound
Full reverse The whole file plays back to front.
Partial reverse Only the selected part is reversed; everything outside it stays as it was.
Palindrome mode The original and its reversal go one after the other in a single file.
Playback Speed Faster or slower playback, with the pitch left where it was.
Pitch Shift Pitch raised or lowered in semitones, with the tempo left where it was.

Worth knowing

  • The reversal keeps every sample value — only their order changes; sample rate, channel count and duration stay the same.
  • Speed and pitch apply only if you move them: at their default values nothing is processed except the reversal itself.
  • A WAV export carries the same sample values; MP3 is encoded anew, so every pass through MP3 adds another round of compression.
