Image metadata editor — view, edit and remove EXIF

You can view and edit the standard EXIF tags — title, description, author, copyright, date taken, camera make/model, software, orientation and GPS coordinates — for JPEG images, plus text fields for PNG. IPTC and XMP tags are shown for every supported format.

No. Edits rewrite only the metadata segment of the file; the compressed image data is copied byte-for-byte, so there is no recompression and no quality loss. The color profile is preserved as well.

Open the "Remove metadata" panel, keep "GPS location" checked and click Remove & download. Only the coordinates are dropped — the camera and date can be kept, or removed too. You can also strip everything with the "Wipe everything" preset.

Yes. Click the edit icon next to "Date taken" and pick a new date and time. This is useful when the camera clock was wrong, or when a re-downloaded photo lost its original timestamp.

Yes. Turn on map editing, then click the map or drag the pin to set new coordinates. You can add a location to a photo that has none, or move an existing pin.

JPEG is fully editable. PNG and WebP can be cleaned and PNG text fields edited. TIFF, HEIC and AVIF can be viewed; convert them to JPEG to edit their tags.

Many photos store a small preview image inside the EXIF data. If you cropped or blurred the picture, that thumbnail can still show the original — so a proper clean removes it too, which this tool does.
