Find Where a Photo Was Taken — GPS and EXIF Online

Online tool to find where a photo was taken from its embedded geodata. It does not look in EXIF alone: it reads the XMP packet, the HEIC and AVIF metadata block, and the video clip phones hide inside a JPEG — where the geotag often survives after EXIF has been stripped. Shows the point on a map with an address, breaks the metadata down by category, and removes personal data without re-encoding a single pixel. Processing runs in your browser.

How to Find Photo Location

1
Upload a photo

Drag and drop or browse to select an image. Supports JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, WebP, TIFF and GIF, several files at a time.

2
Read the verdict

The place name and coordinates appear at the top, together with which part of the file they came from. If the geotag was recovered from a hidden clip, the tool says so.

3
Inspect full metadata

Browse camera model, lens, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, timestamps, and software details across organized categories.

4
Strip metadata for privacy

Remove GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, the hidden clip and other sensitive data before sharing — with the pixels untouched.

⚠️ELA is a reason to look closer, not proof: any re-save — and social networks re-save everything — produces the same bright edges as a real edit.
Error Level Analysis (ELA)
Reveals areas that may have been digitally modified. Uniform brightness suggests no edits; bright spots may indicate manipulation.
