Burnout Test for Work and Emotional Exhaustion
An online tool that measures burnout as three separate scales rather than one combined score: exhaustion in general, exhaustion from work, and exhaustion from working with people. The difference between them is the answer to "what now": one person needs a break, another needs a different workload, a third needs less contact time — and a single combined number would be equally useless to all three. The tool also separates burnout from ordinary tiredness by asking how long the state has lasted and whether rest still repairs it. It is built on the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI), an open instrument with published norms.
How to take the test
That decides whether the third scale is included and which word the items use for the people you work with: patients, students, children, clients.
13 or 19 items, about four minutes. Answer for the last few weeks, not for the worst day of the year.
On the result screen: how long this has lasted and whether rest restores you. The verdict updates as you tap.
Three scales on one axis with the 50-point line, which scale leads, what to do about that particular one, and how it compares with the published norms.
