Still Frame From Blurry Video: Plate, Face, Text

Online tool for reading plates, faces and lettering off poor video. It finds the sharpest frame around the moment you need, stacks neighbouring frames against noise, removes motion blur and interlacing combs, straightens perspective and lens distortion — and never paints in what the camera did not record. Works with dashcam, CCTV and phone files right in the browser.

How to read a plate off a recording

1
Open the original file

Drop the recording from the dashcam card or the camera archive. Not a re-encoded clip from a messenger: some of the detail is already gone from it.

2
Find the moment and the best frame

Step through frames with the arrow keys, box the plate as a region and press “Find the sharpest frame”. If the object is nearly still, stack the neighbouring frames.

3
Fix the capture, then enhance

Separate the fields, rectify the perspective, remove lens distortion. Then the “Plate” preset or your own steps: blur, noise, contrast, sharpening. Compare before/after.

4
Read and save

Loupe, recognition, ruler. Download a lossless PNG, and for a report, the PDF with every step and the file fingerprint.

Pull out of a dashcam or CCTV recording everything it actually kept

Use the original file from the memory card or the camera archive. A clip that went through a messenger or YouTube has been re-encoded — some detail in it is gone for good.
