How does screen capture work?

The Screen Capture API shows a browser dialog where you pick a tab, window, or entire screen to share. A single frame is captured and the stream stops immediately.

Can I use this on mobile?

Yes. Take a screenshot using your device buttons (Power + Volume Down), then paste or upload it. The Capture Screen button is available on desktop only.

What image formats can I export?

PNG (lossless, best quality), JPG (smaller file size, adjustable quality), and WebP (modern format, best compression).

What are step numbers for?

Step numbers place auto-incrementing numbered circles (1, 2, 3…) on the image — perfect for creating tutorials, guides, or visual instructions.
