Spaghetti Portion Measure — Servings per Person

A free printable card for serving the right amount of dry spaghetti without weighing it. A bundle of pasta is a cylinder, so its weight tracks the area of its cross-section — which means a circle of a fixed diameter always holds the same portion. The card carries rings for one to four servings at roughly 80 g of dry pasta each; stand a handful upright in the ring, let it spread to the edge, and you have the portion.

Portioning spaghetti step by step

1
Print at full size

Print the PDF at Actual size with no page-fit scaling, then check the printed scale bar against a ruler so the rings are true.

2
Choose how many you are feeding

Pick the ring for one, two, three or four servings depending on how hungry the table is.

3
Stand the bundle in the ring

Hold a handful of dry spaghetti upright on the card and let it relax until it just fills the chosen circle.

4
Cook and adjust to taste

That bundle is one portion; nudge to a larger ring for a main course or a smaller one for a starter or a side.
