Why use this live location tool

It works entirely in the browser, so there is nothing to install on either side — you just share a link. Positions travel directly between devices (peer-to-peer) and are not stored on our servers, and you can set the share to expire automatically. It is also honest about its limits: live updates need the tab open and the screen on, and it never pretends to track a phone in the background — that is something only a native app can do.

Is this real-time GPS tracking?

It shows live location while everyone keeps the page open and on-screen. Browsers pause location updates when the tab is in the background or the screen is locked, so it is real-time sharing rather than background tracking — keep the tab open and the screen on while sharing.

Do both people need an app?

No. It runs entirely in the browser on phone and desktop. You share a link; whoever opens it and allows location joins the map. No account, no install.

Can someone track me without my knowing?

No. Location is shared only after you open the link and allow your browser's location prompt on your own device. Both sides opt in — it is consent-based sharing, not covert tracking.

Is my location stored on your servers?

No. Positions travel directly between the paired browsers (peer-to-peer), relayed only when a direct connection is not possible, and are not stored on our servers. When everyone closes the tab, the session is gone. Anonymous reliability events are logged — see the Privacy Policy.

Why is the map sometimes blank or the dot far off?

Map tiles can be slow or blocked on some networks — coordinates and distance still work even if tiles do not load. Accuracy depends on the device: phones with GPS are most precise (the circle shows the margin), while desktops fall back to coarse Wi-Fi or IP location.

How many people can share at once?

Several — everyone who opens the link appears on the same map. The creator's tab relays positions, so keep it open; if the creator closes the tab, the session ends for everyone.
