Why does an “interpolated” mark appear at high magnification?
It means the source has run out of real pixels and the picture is being stretched. The mark says so plainly: from here on the size grows, not the detail. Smoothing switches off at roughly the same point, so you see the real pixel grid instead of invented smooth edges.
How is the loupe different from just zooming in?
Zooming grows the whole image and you lose the overview. The loupe magnifies only the circle under the cursor on top of the current zoom, so the whole page stays in front of you while you make out one line or one hallmark. The glass power (1.5–8×) multiplies the current magnification.
What is the reading guide for?
At high magnification only a line or two fit in view, and every time the picture moves your eye has to find its place again. The band dims everything above and below the line you are reading and follows the cursor or your finger, so the place is not lost. Its height adjusts to the type size.
Can I magnify what is on my computer screen?
Yes — the “Screen” button asks the browser to share a window, a tab or the whole screen, and it is then magnified with the same controls. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox the magnifier can be popped out into a window that stays on top, so the enlarged detail is visible while you work in another window. Phone browsers do not offer screen sharing, so the button does not appear there.
Why is camera zoom sharp at first and mushy past a point?
While the optics can still deliver, the camera module does the magnifying and those are real pixels. The tool takes all the hardware zoom available first and only then adds digital zoom, which stretches a frame already captured. For more sharpness, move the camera closer and switch the light on rather than raising the power.
How do I make out a hallmark on jewelry?
Rest the piece on something steady, turn the light on, hold the camera 8–12 cm away and press freeze — then zoom and pan the stilled picture. In Chrome on Android freeze grabs a full-resolution still from the sensor, so the frozen frame holds more detail than the live one. Hallmarks usually read best in “Crisp” or “B&W”, which kill the glare off gold and leave the relief.
Will the tool remember my color mode?
Yes. Color mode, brightness, contrast, the loupe settings, the reading guide and the speaking rate are stored in your browser and restored the next time you open the page — there is nothing to set up again.
Does the high-contrast mode survive into the saved snapshot?
Yes. Color mode, brightness, contrast, rotation and mirroring are applied while the frame is drawn rather than over it, so the saved PNG looks exactly like the viewer did at the moment you pressed the button.
