Number base converter with step-by-step working
This base converter turns a number from any base between 2 and 36 into any other and writes out the working the way it is done in class: repeated division with remainders, the expanded form, groups of three or four bits. It finds the exact period of a repeating fraction and handles negative numbers of any length.
How to convert a number
Type the number and choose the bases "from" and "to" — or tap an example. A prefix like 0x or a subscript like 1011₂ sets the base by itself.
The answer appears under the field together with the same number in bases 2, 8, 10 and 16; any of those fields can be edited.
In the "Working" block, switch the method and the layout, then copy it, save a PDF, print it or share the link.
