Opening a PSD without Photoshop
A Photoshop file carries a flattened copy of the whole document, written so that programs which cannot read layers can still show it. That is what lets a .psd be opened without Photoshop — and what lets a damaged one be opened at all, since the copy sits at the end of the file and survives damage to the layers. This tool shows the document, lists its layers and saves it as PNG or JPEG.
1
Open the file
Any .psd or .psb. It is read on your device, and a large layered document is normal.
2
Look at the document
It appears at full size, on a chequerboard so transparent areas are obvious.
3
Save it
PNG keeps the transparency; JPEG makes a smaller file for sending.
See the document, save it as PNG or JPEG, read its layer list
