Guitar and Bass Tuner — Microphone Pitch Detection
Online tuner for guitar and bass guitar with real-time microphone pitch detection. Six guitar tunings — Standard E, Drop D, Open G, Open D, DADGAD and ½ step down — and thirteen bass tunings for four, five and six strings, with the low B and A, tenor and piccolo. Adjustable A4 reference (415–466 Hz) and a reference tone for each string.
How to tune
4 stepsChoose guitar or bass guitar and click "Start microphone" — the browser will ask for permission once.
Pluck one string at a time, let it ring. The big note shows what was detected, the needle moves left of center if too low, right if too high.
Turn the tuning peg toward the green zone. When the needle sits in the green zone (±5 cents), the string is in tune.
The bottom row shows the strings of the current tuning, numbered as on the instrument: the highest number (6 on a guitar, 4 on a bass) is the thickest string, 1 the thinnest. A string lights up green when it is in tune.
Tune your guitar or bass with the real microphone, right in the browser
A phone microphone barely hears the low E and B. If no note shows or it jumps an octave, tap the string's card and play the 12th-fret harmonic — the tuner folds it onto the string's note.
